DANKNER, Gordon, Halifax, 75, passed away on May 31, 2016 after a brief illness, with his heartbroken family at his side. A loving husband, father and grandfather, Gordon was born on September 19, 1940, the son of the late Philip and Elsie Dankner. After a lengthy career in the family grocery business, he enjoyed 25 years in the insurance business, working until the time of his death. He was also a beloved teacher at Shaar Shalom Synagogue Hebrew School for 34 years, guiding hundreds of children through their Jewish education.
