Gladys Pearl Mitton
Gladys P. Mitton, 95, of K. E. Spencer Memorial Home, and
formerly of Berry Mills, passed away peacefully at her residence on
Sunday, February 19, 2017. Born in Plumweseep, King’s Co.,
NB, she was the daughter of the late Mayfield and Harriet (Faulkner)
Goddard.
Gladys was a long-time member of New Hope Community Church
(formerly Steeves Mountain Baptist Church). She enjoyed knitting,
reading and spending time with her family.
Gladys will be sadly missed by her daughters, Carolyn Lewis
(late John « Sonny ») of Steeves Mountain and Merridy Killam
(Bennett « Bob ») of Listowel, ON; grandchildren, Donna, Mike
(Penny), Jeff, Duane (Cindy) and Stacy (Leanne); great grandchildren,
Emma, Ben, Alex, Kaleigh, Breanna and Mackenzie; several extended
family members. In addition to her parents, Gladys was predeceased by
her husband, Lloyd A. Mitton (March 1999).
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel, 1657 Mountain
Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Thursday, February 23, 2017 from 12:00 to
1:00 pm, followed immediately by a service to celebrate and honor
Gladys’ life at 1:00 pm, with Pastor Gordon Horsman
officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following
the service. Interment will be in Steeves Mountain Cemetery, Steeves
Mountain, NB in the spring.
