On June 18, 2016, Giovanni Turlione of Edmonton passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the age of 91 years. Giovanni is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Lucia; one daughter, Antonella; two sons, Sergio (Nella) and John (Deirdre); six grandchildren, Nicholas, Ashley, Erin, Melanie, Sierra and Morganna; one brother, Guiseppe; as well as a large extended family in Italy. Predeceased by his beloved grandson, Giovanni Alexander; his parents; four brothers; and one sister. Thank you to the staff of both the Emergency Department and Unit 17 of the Sturgeon Community Hospital. Prayer Service Thursday, June 23 at 8:00 p.m. at Santa Maria Goretti Roman Catholic Church, 9110 – 110 Avenue. Mass of Christian Burial Friday, June 24 at 9:30 a.m. at Santa Maria Goretti Roman Catholic Church. Reverend George Puramadathil CFIC officiating with entombment in Holy Cross Mausoleum.
