Gertrude N. Chase
1931-2017
The death of Gertrude Nancy Chase of Stickney, NB occurred peacefully
with her family by her side on April 23, 2017 at the Upper River
Valley Hospital in Waterville, NB. Born in Woodstock, NB on May 20,
1931, she was the daughter of the late James B. Harrington and Elva
M. (Turner) Harrington. She was predeceased by her husband Douglas W.
K. Chase, brothers John J. Harrington and Bernard H. Harrington,
grandson Ian Hunter and great grandson Jacob McIntosh.
Gertrude is survived by her two daughters, Ferne Chase of Stickney
and Suzanne Hunter (Terry) of Stickney, two grandchildren Billie Jo
McIntosh (Michael) of Mint Hill NC and Sarah K. Foster (Anthony) of
Ashland NB; Sarah’s father Graydon Drier of Stickney, 7 great
grandchildren, Kennedy, Terry, Ryan and Sawyer McIntosh and Mariah,
Benjamin and Chloe Foster; 2 siblings, Paul L. Harrington of
Woodstock, NB and Sandra A. Montgomery of Cross Creek, NB and
sister-in-law Kathy C. Harrington of Red Bridge, NB. As well,
Gertrude had several nieces, nephews and extended family.
Visitation will be held from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207
Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol, on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 from
11:00 am – 2:00 pm. The funeral will follow visitation at the funeral
home. Interment will be held in the Hunter Community Cemetery in
Stickney. For those who wish, donations can made to the Kidney
Foundation, Diabetes Association or a charity of the donor’s choice
