Mr. LaFlèche passed away peacefully at the Timmins Extendicare on Sunday August 14, 2016, at the age of 98.
Predeceased by his beloved wife Elizabeth Edna (nee Carr).
Loving father of Judith Venn (Wayne) of Timmins, Gail Brooks (Robert) of Portage la Prairie, MB, Maureen LaFleche (Al Eden) of Qualicum Beach, BC and Laurie LaFleche of Timmins.
Dear grandfather of Stacie Cameron (Richard) of Stoney Creek, ON, Trevor Venn (Tammy Bromley) of Timmins, Jess Brooks (Kelsey) of Oakville, MB and Lily Brooks of Alberta.
Great grandfather of Alaina and Isla Cameron, Everly Mae and Banner Brooks.
Gerard was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br.88. He was a veteran of WWII. After the war, he began his working career as a prospectorwith Noranda Exploration. His work had him traveling throughout Canada, but kept him mostly in Northern Ontario. He retired from Noranda Exploration at the age of 65. He then proceeded to work for the Commissionaires until the age of 75.
Cremation has taken place and the interment will be held at a later date.
