May 28, 1937-March 7, 2015 With sadness and tears the family of Gerry Buchanan (Hart) announce her passing. Born in Lethbridge at St Michael’s Hospital, she passed away at St Michael’s Health Centre in the Palliative Care Unit after a lengthy illness. She is lovingly remembered and held dearly in the hearts of her beloved husband, friend and soul mate Ted; daughters Penny (Peter), Crystal (Michael), Carol; grandchildren Haylee (Brody), Joel; great grandchildren Sawyer and Beckham; her siblings Sharon, Judie and family, Jack (Linda) & family; family of her brother Randall (Marion), family of her sister Barbara (Ian). Gerry was the third child of William and Gladys Hart. She was predeceased by her parents, brother Randall, sister Barbara,and her infant son Carey. Through the years Gerry and Ted had a great fondness for the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, berry picking, hiking, cross country skiing and especially camping. Gerry’s enduring legacy will be the quilts she sewed with love in every stitch for her family and friends. The family are deeply grateful for the compassionate, gentle care that their wife, mother, sister, grandma, aunt, friend received from the Palliative Care Team at St Michael’s Palliative Care Unit. There will be no funeral service. At Gerry’s request, her family will predetermine a date to celebrate her life at her favorite huckleberry picking patch. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to a charity of your choice.
