Gerry passed peacefully, after a lengthy battle with Parkinsons, at Creedan Valley Nursing Home in Creemore, of Wasaga Beach formerly of Maxwell in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of 60 years to Doris(nee Miller). Loving father of Karen(Tim) McKee of Collingwood, Laurie(Sandy) Clark of Stayner and Roger(Tracey Armstrong) of Perry Sound. Loved and remembered by grandchildren Shannon(Gary) Welch, Krista McKee(Adam Garbutt), Jordan McKee(Kevin Schreiber), Brandon”Will”(Nat) Clark, Madisson Coe, Dylan Coe. Predeceased by sister and brother in-law Eileen and Frank Tomporowski. Survived by brothers in-law Wes(June) Miller of St. Catherines and Reg(Dorilla) Miller of Feversham.
Gerald was born to Bill and Marjorie Coe in Creemore on March 14, 1935. He met and married the love of his life on September 7, 1957 in Singhampton. Gerry’s younger years were spent on his passions baseball and hockey. He adored his farm, however, the trucking got too busy for both. He ran G.W. Coe and Son Limited for over 15 years until they bought west of Maxwell to grow crop and raise cattle.
The family will receive friends at the Fawcett Funeral Home, Flesherton on Friday, December 1 from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral service from the funeral home chapel on Saturday at 11am.
