Gerald (Jerry) Abraham Martell, age 73, of L’Ardoise, passed away on Wed Dec 27th at home surrounded by his family.
A loving, compassionate, caring, giving man who never complained and always put others first. He was always willing to help anyone in need without looking for anything in return. Jerry was a hard worker, starting at a young age making his living cutting pulp. He was known as one of the strongest, hardest working man around L’Ardoise. Jerry also loved telling stories of the old time while enjoying a cold glass of wine and playing his Gibson guitar.
Left to honor and remember him are his loving wife of 40 years Patricia (Pata); five children Jerry (Buffie), Jeffrey (Nicole), John ( Amanda), Alison (Mitch) & Lawrence. His nine grandchildren Delanie, Osten, Nason, Brianna, Brooklyn, Mack, Lance, Charley & Rylan. Siblings Mary Harnish, Margaret Sampson, Charles (Marie), Victor ( Ann), Alphie (Ann) & Wilfred ( Jeannie). Jerry was preceased by his parents Henry and Alice Mae (Burkey), four sisters and three brothers.
Funeral Mass will be offered Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. from Holy Guardian Angels Roman Caholic Church with Rev. Antolin Asor presiding, burial to follow in the Parish Cemetery.
The Martell Family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, neighbors and friends for the assistance and support over the last few weeks. The family request donations be made to the Lung Association of Nova Scotia or Canadian Cancer Society.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Green’s Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury.
