Gerald Aubrey (Bud) Fisher
1939-2017
Bud Fisher, of Riverview, 78, passed away peacefully at the
Moncton Hospital on December 17, 2017. He was
the son of the late Aubrey and Neva (Sealy) Fisher,
both of Moncton. He was predeceased by his wife of 52 years,
Joyce Marilyn (Rawline) Fisher, just over a year ago.
Bud was born in Campbellton, butgrew up in the Moncton
area. As a young man he headed west, joining the
RCMP. A medical discharge brought him home to the maritimes,
where he began a long career in the petroleum industry, first with
Imperial Oil, and finally with Co-op Atlantic. Over the years, he was
a member of the Kinsmen Club of Bathurst and volunteered with the Boy
Scouts of Canada in Riverview. After retirement in 1998, he
rediscovered many interests including working on home improvements at
both the family cottage in Shediac and the house where he and Joyce
raised their family. He also reconnected with a number of
old friends, enjoyed taking day trips with
Joyce, photography, and cooking, always in desperate search
of the perfect biscuit recipe. Bud was known for his great
sense of humor, and maintained this even up until his final
days.
Bud took great pride in his family, and will
be lovingly remembered by his eldest son Brian, his
wife Lori (Maxwell) and their children, Erin and Kevin of Moncton; son
Dean, his wife Louiseann (Wiggins) and their children Haley and Kyle,
of Mississauga; and daughter Sharon (Lewis), her partner Paul, her
children Scott and Jenna and their father, Kevin, all of
Moncton.
He is also survived by one brother, Layton Fisher of Calgary,
his children and their families. He was predeceased by his
sister-in-law, Jean (Anthony), and in-laws Gordon and Marjorie
(Arthur) Rawline.
As per Bud’s request, there will be no
visitation. Cremation has taken place. A private
celebration of life will be held in the new year.
Arrangements have been made by Cobb’s Funeral Home and
Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd, Riverview
(869-2007).
Donations in Bud’s memory can be made to the
Canadian Cancer Society, or to the Karing Kitchen, Moncton, in honor
of his late father Aubrey. Condolences may be expressed to
the family at www.cobbsfuneralhome.ca
