Dad passed away peacefully, at home, surrounded by his family, on Friday February 24, 2017 in his 89th year. George O’Dacre of Pembroke, beloved husband and best friend of Therese O’Dacre (nee Gauthier). Much loved and respected father to Allan O’Dacre (Janice), of Kanata, Dan O’Dacre (Sue) of Wendover ON, and John O’Dacre (Janey) of Perth. Loved and cherished granpa to Patrick (Mimi), Sean (Barbara), Ashley (Mauro), Grace, Faith and Luke and great grandchildren Evan, Giada, Sabrina, Christian and Daniel. Dear son of the late George and Mary (nee Panke) O’Dacre. George retired after 35 years as a successful mechanical draftsman at AECL and in retirement enjoyed his hobbies of woodworking and computers. He was a provider to and a protector of his family. Friends are invited to share their memories of George with his family during visitation at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 296 Isabella Street, Pembroke on Monday February 27, 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. and after 9 a.m. on Tuesday. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday February 28 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Columbkille’s Cathedral, Pembroke. Interment St. Columba’s Cemetery.
