1921-2017
The family announces the passing of Frank Worden
Britten which occurred at the Ridgewood Veterans Wing on Dec. 29th,
2017. Born April 11th, 1921 in Cody’s, Queen County, NB. He
was the son of Edward (Ted) and Helen (Worden)
Britten.
Frank a WWII Veteran served in France, Belgium,
Holland and Germany. He was a recipient of the French National Order
of the Legion of Honour. Frank worked for the Rothesay
School in maintenance, then employed at the Saint John Dry Dock before
retiring. A member of the Legion Branch #58
Rothesay, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, skating, dancing,
gardening and summers at his place on the Washademoak
Lake.
Survived by his wife, Ernestine (Ellis) of 69 years,
daughter Sharon(Paul) Megarity, Laurine Bushey, Carol (Bill) Budd, two
sons Carl(Anita) and Ian (Lisa). Three granddaughters, four grandsons
and five great grandsons. A brother Ellis,
sister-in-law Anne of Dartmouth, NS, as well as cousins, nieces and
nephews. Besides his parents Frank was predeceased by his
brother, Don, sister-in-law Jean and son-in-law Peter
Bushey.
Many thanks to all the staff at Ridgewood Veteran’s
Wing for their care and kindness.
Frank is resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral
Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119) with visiting on
Wednesday, January 3, from 2-4 & 6-8PM with a Legion Tribute
Service starting at 3pm. Private Interment will take place at
Oceanview Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donations
may be made in Frank’s memory to a the charity of the donor’s
choice.
