Frank Oswald Leger – 1930-2017

Frank Oswald Leger
1930-2017
The family of Frank Leger sadly announces the passing of a
kind and gentle man – a lifelong Saint Johner who was born June 4,
1930, and died May 24, 2017, surrounded by his family. He was the son
of the late Dr. L. Oswald and Muriel (Whelpley) Leger.
Frank was a successful and much-admired lawyer for 63 years
at Cox & Palmer, with many career and community service
highlights. He was dedicated and passionate about his practice,
working full-time to the age of 86. But his family and home life were
most important to him. He loved to read books, and work outdoors on
his property in Rothesay, and he dearly loved his late cat Smudge.
Most of all, Frank loved spending time with family.
He is survived and fondly remembered and loved by his wife of
51 years, Priscilla (Doyle); his children Jennifer Edgar (Garey), Mark
(Janet Scott), Alexandra Keedwell (David) and Rebecca Connors
(Michael); and cherished grandchildren: Elizabeth, John, Jack, Ella,
Peter, Bridget, Hilary, Hope and Emma. He was predeceased by his
infant grandchild Sophia, and his sisters, Lucille Killorn and Anne
Marie Maloney.
Frank’s family will receive visitors at
Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111
Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), on Monday, May 29, from 2 – 8 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, May 30, at 12
pm at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 31 Gondola Point
Rd., Rothesay. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s
Cemetery. Donations in Frank’s honour can be made to the
Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation, St. Joseph’s
Hospital Foundation, the Cathedral Restoration Project, or the charity
of your choice.
