Frank H. & Muriel E.C. Wells
(January 17, 1940 – March 30, 2016)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing in Largo, Florida of Frank and Muriel Wells of Cupids. After nearly 51 years of marriage, they died as they lived, together.
Muriel Edith Cavell Wells (nee Pinkston) (Age 73 years) Muriel Wells, of Brigus, was born in Markland, NL. on November 8, 1942 to Douglas and Marjorie Pinkston. She passed suddenly away at her winter residence in Florida on March 29, 2016. During her short career as a teacher, she made an indelible impression on her students before she decided to leave teaching and become a devoted wife and mother. As a strong supporter of her community, church and family, Muriel will be long remembered as a humble and compassionate person, who was endeared to all who knew her. Muriel was pre-deceased by parents, Douglas and Marjorie Pinkston, and her brother George Pinkston.
Frank Hoyles Wells (Age 76 years) Frank Wells was born in Cupids on January 17, 1940 to Frederick and Mabel Wells. He passed away after a brief illness at the Largo Medical Centre in Florida, on March 30, 2016. As a former police officer, contractor, business man, and mayor, Frank was well respected for his dedication and integrity. In his later years, Frank dedicated his summers to his favorite hobbies, gardening and berry picking and his winters with his friends and family in Florida. Frank’s legacy will perhaps be best remembered as a devoted husband to Muriel, father to his three precious girls, and grandfather to his grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Frederick and Mabel Wells. Muriel and Frank leave to mourn their daughters Andrea (Norman Lockyer), Joanne (Rod Delaney) and Krista (Vincent Dawson); grandchildren, Jonathan, Taylor, Joshua and Joel; Muriel’s sister Diane Pinkston-Best and brother John (Marilyn) Pinkston. Frank’s brother James (Shirley) Wells and special cousin Clyde (Viola) Wells. They also leave to mourn an extended group of family members and special friends.
Cremation for both Muriel and Frank has already taken place in Largo, Florida.
Visitation will take place at Broughton’s Funeral Home in Brigus, NL. on Friday, April 15, 2016 from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm. A celebration of their lives will take place at the Cupids United Church on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 2:00 pm. Inurnment will follow in the Cupids United Church Cemetery, Cupids. Flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in their memory may be made to Daffodil Place in St. John’s.
