In Loving Memory
Francesco Luisi
God saw him getting tired
When a cure was not to be,
So He closed His arms around him,
And whispered “come to me.”
His golden heart stopped beating,
His gentle hand at rest,
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best.
In tears we saw him struggling,
We watched him fade away,
Our hearts were almost broken,
Because he fought so hard to stay,
But when we saw him sleeping,
Peacefully and free from pain,
We could not wish him back
to suffer that again.
So keep your arms around him Lord, and
give him special care, make up for all he
suffered that seemed to us unfair.
So many times we’ll need him,
so many times we’ll cry.
If love could have saved him Lord,
He never would have died.
