Fase Croft
Fase Croft Passed away peacefully on November 17, 2017. Born in Holland June 12, 1924, daughter of the late Leendert and Masje (VanDuyn) Noppen. Fase came to Canada in 1947 after having met the love of her life, Earl, during WW II. Fase was known for her charitable and loving nature and her lifelong willingness to help people and animals in need. In her early years, Fase worked as an assistant pharmacist in Holland and she worked several years for the Library in HRM. She was a devoted member of St. Paul’s United Church in Spryfield where she was Choir Director, Bell Director, Sunday School Teacher and Cub Scout leader. She was presented with the first annual Mainland South Community Service Award in 1982. She was a gifted musician and long-time member of the Chebucto Orchestra. Fase was predeceased by her husband, Earl Croft; siblings Helena and Frederik. She is survived by her sons Richard (Brenda) and Dean. She was Oma to Erika (Kevin) Smith and Jodie (Jennifer) Croft; great-grandsons Connor and Brennan. Fase was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be in our hearts forever. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of the QEII hospital and her caregivers at home Beverly, Carol and Berta. In Memoriam, donations may be made to the World Development and Relief Fund of the United Church of Canada or the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Society (SPCA).
