Everett Lloyd Phillips 1934-2016 Everett L. Phillips of Southampton, NB passed away July 18, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Everett was born at St. Stephen, NB in 1934, a son of the late Walter and Phyllis (Duncan) Phillips. He had a love for harness racing and owned several standard-bred horses in Ontario. Following retirement from General Motors, where he had worked for 35 years, Everett moved back to New Brunswick. He is survived by two brothers, Reginald Phillips, Southampton, NB and Darrell Phillips, Woodstock, NB; four nephews, Terry Phillips (Claudia), Woodstock, NB, Robert McBeth and Philip McBeth (Tanya), both of Oshawa, ON and Scott Phillips (Chelsea), Woodstock, NB; four nieces, Ann Drost (Bernard), Fredericton, NB, Mystie McGilvery (Dan), Toronto, ON, Aleisha Argent (Christopher), Bowmanville, ON and Kim Phillips (Andrew), Woodstock, NB; several great nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Wanda Phillips, Woodstock, NB and Pamela Phillips, Oshawa, ON; several cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, William (Billy) and James (Jim) Phillips; two sisters, Ruby Jean McBeth and infant Beatrice Evonne and a sister-in-law, Jeannette Phillips. Visitation was held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on Friday, July 22, 2016 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. when a funeral service was held with Rev. Bob Johnson officiating. A eulogy was delivered by his nephew, Terry Phillips. Special music was provided by Robert and Judy Dickinson and by Rev. Johnson. Interment followed at the Lenentine Cemetery. For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Everett, the family has suggested the Lenentine Cemetery or the Canadian Cancer Society.
