Obituary for Evelyn Andrews
On Tuesday, August 15, 2017, Evelyn June Andrews (nee Walker), age 64 years, passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Born September 3, 1952 in Brandon, MB. Evelyn was the fourth of nine children born to George and Clara Walker. Evelyn attended school in Brandon and went on to take a nursing degree in Brandon from which she graduated in 1983. After graduation she worked on the children’s ward at BGH until her retirement in 2009. She was a volunteer for various parent groups, Westman CPR Network, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Christian Women’s Club and was active in her church community. Evelyn had two children in her first marriage, Barbara Katharine Lyon and William (Bill) Richard Lyon. In 1993 she married Bob Andrews and was blessed with another family. Kathy, Ben, Bruce, Christie, and Jennifer. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband Bob, 2013, mother Clara, 2010 and father George,1992. She is survived by her daughter Barbara (Harry), son Bill (Terri-Lynn), Kathy (Dennis), Ben (Sue), Bruce (Margaret), Christie (Jim), Jennifer (Randy). Also surviving are Bill’s children Taylor, Brittney and Tanner and Barb’s son Dustin plus 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren from her marriage to Bob. Sisters: Arlyn, Brenda and Paula and brothers: Ron, Arlo, Colin, Robert and Karl, plus numerous nieces and nephews. The ceremony to celebrate Evelyn’s life will be held at Grand Valley Community Church, 1620 Braecrest Drive, Brandon, MB on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society 415 1st Street, Brandon, MB.
