Eunice Margaret Gillen 1923-2016 After 93 exceptional years, Eunice Margaret Gillen (nee Gray) completed her life’s journey. Born on May 2, 1923 she entered life eternal,(passing peacefully in her sleep), on Saturday June 25, 2016 in Brampton. She was married for fifty years to William (2003). Eunice will forever be the beloved mother and mother-in-law to Kathryn, Corinne (Wayne) and David (April). Adoring Nana to Amy, Andrew and Chance. Mum, To the world you were just one, to us you were the world Dearest sister to Joan (Herb) Hawkins, Pat (Roy) Whitsed(deceased) and Bill (Eunice-deceased) Gray. Eunice and her two sisters were the “THE GRAY GIRLS” and all that it encompassed. Born and raised in Hamilton, Eunice lived on Cope St. and Garside Avenue and attended Delta Collegiate. She enlisted in the RCAF-WD at age 19 and served her country from 1942-45. Mum loved her family unconditionally, long walks in the woods down an unfamiliar trail, puzzles and mysteries of any kind, history(family or otherwise) and believed you should never stop learning (owned 7 dictionaries she used daily) On the other hand, Eunice hated cooking, cats, unexpected (or expected) visitors of any sort, gifts (especially if she had to open in front of anyone), and injustice of any kind. Our Mother was the strongest woman we knew. If you were blessed enough to be part of her family, her inner circle, then you knew how it felt to be truly loved. Love all, Trust a few, Do wrong to none Words our mother lived by. See you on the other side Mum. We know you’ll light the way. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Ward Funeral Home “Brampton” Chapel (52 Main St. S., Brampton) Friends and family will be received from 12-2:00 pm on Thursday, June 30th, 2016 with a Funeral Service commencing at 2:00 pm in the Chapel.
