Enid Barnett June 12, 1929 – October 16, 2016

Barnett, Enid Vivian
Passed away at Fairmount Home on Saturday, October 15th, 2016 in her 87th year. Cherished wife of 68 years to her adored and adoring husband the late Abraham Barnett (1921-2015). Mother of Judith Nauseef (William) and Martha Scheinman (Andre). Grandmother of Noah Scheinman, Eli Scheinman (Kacey Hicks), Ariel Zimmerman and Jones Nauseef (Lauren Chiang) and great-grandmother of Sidney and Jane Nauseef and Lawson Zimmerman. Beloved aunt to her nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Emma and Morris Rosenberg, her sisters Helen Hoffman and Miriam Camhy and her brother Seymour Rosenberg.
All who encountered Enid were immediately put at ease and felt her true interest in their lives and stories. As a mother, poet and teacher, Enid lent to all the confidence to go forward into a better day. She found solutions where none had been seen. She saw the strengths in everyone.
The family wishes to express special thanks to the staff at Fairmount Home and to Stacey and the staff of Kingston Dementia Home Care Services for their wonderful support.
Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at Cataraqui Cemetery – Iyr HaMelech at 3 o’clock in the afternoon. Reception to follow at the Kingston home of Martha and Andre Scheinman, please see Gordon F. Tompkins Funeral Home website for further details.
We will celebrate the remarkable life and talents of Enid Barnett at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or to Fairmount Home would be appreciated by the family.
