COMEAU, Emilie Marie “Emmi” – age 83, Yarmouth, formerly of Kinney Hill Rd., Arcadia, Yarmouth Co., passed away peacefully in Yarmouth Regional Hospital on Monday, October 30, 2017 with her family at her side. Born February 25, 1934, she was one of 18 children born to Heinrich and Johanna (Wherhan) Mensdorf. Emmi loved flowers, gardening and crafts, especially knitting and quilting. She was an associate member of the Western Nova Scotia Exhibition and was a multiple recipient of the Mayflower Award. Emmi is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Albert Comeau, as well as by her children, Robert Mensdorf, Germany; Johanna Comeau (Mark Pittaway), Langton, ON; Shirley Comeau (Steven Jeffrey), Yarmouth, N.S; Fred Comeau (Nadine Goodwin-Comeau), Yarmouth, N.S; and Tanja Comeau, Carleton, N.S; along with seven grandchildren, Nicole Otto, Tanja Lorch, Veronika Simmons, Josh Simmons, Alisha (Boudreau) Leela, Brittany Boudreau, Jakob Comeau, and seven great grandchildren. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert St. Yarmouth, where a memorial service will be held at 7 p.m., November 3, 2017, Rev. Mr. Stephen Bourque officiating. Interment will take place at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Melbourne. Flowers are welcome.
