Emgard Anne Borne (née Huhnke)
March 20, 1925 – December 12, 2016.
A long time resident of Alice, Emgard departed this life from Marianhill and went to be with her Lord and Saviour. She was met at Heaven’s gate by her beloved husband, Verner F.W. Borne; her cherished daughter Brenda Flood; her dear grandson Jeffrey Borne; her mother Ida M. Hoffman-Huhnke-Hammel, her father Heinrich Huhnke, her step-father John F. Hammel; and her two sisters Geneva Gust (late Wilfred) and Mona Heubner (late Harry). She was the dearly loved mother of Audrey Howard (James), Rodger Borne (Bette), Gerald Borne (Billie Ruth), all of Alice; Phyllis Reid (Jean Pierre) of Gatineau; and Valerie Trotter (Dan) of Calabogie. Proud grandmother of Patricia Vidov (Mark), Greg Borne (Marie Lyne), Carrie Murphy (Reid), Colin Howard (Sonya), Robbie Borne (Lisa), Lori Ann Borne, Stephanie Reid (Jíří), Caroline Reid-Westoby (Kevin), Josée Reid (Dan), Derek Gallagher (Natasha), Tamara Gallagher (Mike), Bradley Flood (Tina) and Ryan Flood (Kristina). Caring great-granny of Andrew & Matthew; Alexandra & Emma; Chanelle & Ella; Cole; Lucas; Emily; Jessica & Vanessa; Brayden, Aaron & Zachary; Mira; Sarah & Simon; Mason; and Jaxon & Jazmyn. Also survived by son-in-law Lloyd Flood, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation at the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, 141 Renfrew St., Pembroke on Thursday, December 15, 2016 from 2 to 4:00 and 7 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Alice on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Spring Interment in St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery.
