Elizabeth Hilworth (nee Kuryluk) of Regina, SK passed away May 21, 2017 in Regina, at age 88.
Betty was born in Stornoway, SK on June 29, 1928 to Thomas and Katherine Kuryluk.
The family soon moved to their farm in Yorkton. After graduation, Betty worked at John Deere.
Married in 1949 to Merve Hilworth, they lived in Kindersley, then in Melville for 20 years.
Betty was active in her community and in curling – her team won many trophies! “Rexall Betty” was also a pharmacy assistant at Hegan’s Rexall Drugs.
In 1975, the Hilworths moved to Regina where she worked at Simpsons Commercial Interiors and The Bay. Betty and Merve were avid Northgate Walkers – she enjoyed Saturday breakfasts with her Walkers lady friends.
She was her grandchildren’s #1 fan.
Betty will forever be remembered for her delicious cinnamon buns!
Betty was predeceased by her parents; sister Christine Winnitowy and brother Leslie Kuryluk of Yorkton.
Left to celebrate her life is daughter Deb (Jan) Alsen of Casa Grande, AZ; son Larry (Kathy) Hilworth of Yorkton; daughter Barb (Kevin) Soltys of Regina; cherished grandchildren Kyle and Dean Alsen, Brianna (Jason) Rogers, Jessica and Tommy Soltys; sister Marlene Lawby of Chilliwack BC; brother Merve (Dorothy) Kuryluk of Yorkton; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at St. James United Church, 4506 Sherwood Drive, Regina, SK on Thursday May 25, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Burial at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association, 917A Albert Street, Regina, SK S4R 2P6 or Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre Street, Regina, SK S4P 2R3.
