Eileen Jean Lavigne
Suddenly on February 15, 2017 in the Pembroke Regional Hospital, in her 92nd year. Eileen Jean Lavigne of Pembroke was born in Westmeath, Ontario on December 12, 1925, the daughter of Delphis and Delia (Thibault) Pappin. She was predeceased by her first husband, Gordon Buchanan, in 1976. She was also predeceased by infant sister Marion, sister Doris Spotswood (Jack) and two brothers, Cecil (Lorna Howard) and Lorne (Geraldine Switzer) Pappin. Eileen is survived by her husband of 38 years, Joe Lavigne; her son, Michael Buchanan, and daughters Lori Buchanan (Dave Harwood) and Nancy Buchanan (Matthias Vetsch); four grandchildren, Courtney Heffernan (Shawn), Craig Harwood, Krista Forster (Jeff) and Melissa Buchanan; and a great-granddaughter, Jersey Forster. She is also survived by step-daughters Margaret O’Brien (Neil) and Anna Howarth (Dennis), and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 296 Isabella Street, Pembroke on Saturday, February 18, from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be follow at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Pembroke. Spring Interment, Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Westmeath. The family wishes to express special thanks to Marnie Logan, Kate Lloyd, Dr. Laliberte, and the staff at Supples Landing. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Pembroke Regional Hospital or Our Lady of Lourdes Church will be gratefully appreciated.
