It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ed Chudy. Ed is survived by his wife, Ruby; son, Derek Chudy of Calgary, AB; daughter, Liza Marie (Rick) Winters of Kalamazoo, MI; three grandchildren, Madison, Carter and Brooke Winters; five sisters, Helen (John) Kornylo, Stella Karpluk, Liz (Harvey) Shouchuk, all of Saskatoon, SK, Phyllis (Lloyd) Johnston of Chilliwack, BC and Lucy Chudy of Saskatoon, SK; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Ed was dedicated to providing for his family. As such, he spent many years working at various construction sites in Alberta and Saskatchewan. Ed was well known and well respected on the job sites for his limitless skills and strong work ethic. After his retirement, Ed loved to travel to his cabin at Turtle Lake. There he enjoyed seadooing, boating, fishing and bird watching. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He always had a special bag of candy for each one and shared stories about them to anybody who would listen. Always a very social person. Ed loved getting together with family and friends. Ed enjoyed a good game of Kaiser or shooting a round of pool. He will be missed as he was loved by many for his sense of humour, storytelling and his willingness to always help out. A Service of Remembrance will be held at Park Funeral Chapel, 311 Third Avenue North, Saskatoon on Monday, February 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations can be made to the St. Paul’s Hospital, Palliative Care Unit.
