Edna Richard
1918-2017
Edna Richard, 99, of Villa Providence Inc., Shediac and formerly of
Notre-Dame, passed away peacefully after a long and full life of love,
prayers and laughter, on Sunday November 12 2017. She was married to
the late Wilfred Richard (2003). Born in Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, she was
the daughter of the late Alexandre and the late Henriette (LeBlanc)
Gaudet.
She will be sadly missed by her eight children; Léontine Gagnon
(Eric) of Moncton, Sr Anne-Marie Richard sscm of Beauport, QC, Gemma
LeBlanc of Moncton, Stella Bourque (Joseph) of Moncton, Gloria
Bastarache (Maurice) of Notre-Dame, Claudette Léger (Normand)
of Dieppe, Gérard (Gisèle) and Omer (Denise) of
Notre-Dame, her seventeen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
She also leaves to mourn three sisters; Rita Gaudet of Bouctouche,
Irma Saulnier of Bristol, Conn., Thérèse Saulnier of
Florida and two sisters-in-law, Rhéa and Dorilla as well as
several nephews and nieces.
She was predeceased by one sister Jeanne and three brothers; Omer,
Alcide and Ernest.
Visitations will be held at the Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur Roman
Catholic Church Slumber Room, Notre-Dame on Wednesday November 15,
2017 from 2 to 4 and 5:30 to 6:45 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated
at the Notre-Dame Church on Wednesday November 15 at 7:00 pm with
interment in the parish cemetery.
In Edna’s memory, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s
Society or to the NB Diabetes Association.
