Obituary for Edgar Taillefer
TAILLEFER, Edgar Sr.
It is with great sadness that the family announces his death in Sudbury on December 15th, 2017 at the age of 90. Son of late Thaddee Taillefer and of the late Rosanna Taillefer. Cherished father of Paulette, Joanne, Rachel Antoniazzi (Alan) and Edgar Jr. (Louise). Predeceased by his daughter Diane. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his brothers Victor and Leo. Predeceased by siblings Henri, Roland, Ernest, Omer, Gertrude, Raymond, Marcel, and Ronald.
Edgar was a man who lived life on his own terms. He was a pioneer and visionary in Sudbury’s early business community. He had a deep passion for music. Among his accomplishments was producing and promoting numerous musical acts including Irwin Prescott and the band Karousel. His closeness to the outdoors was a natural fit with his love of rocks and aggregate which lasted his whole life. He followed many dreams and wore many hats, but the one he will most be remembered for is his cowboy hat.
Family will receive friends at the Théorêt Bourgeois Funeral Home, Sturgeon Falls, on Tuesday December 19th 2017 from 2p.m. to 8p.m. A celebration of Edgar’s life will be held on Wednesday, December 20th at 12 noon at the funeral home. Donations can be made to the Paroisse Sacré Coeur Church Building Fund, Sturgeon Falls. (cheques only).
