Earl Grayme Anthony, born April 15, 1953 in Montreal, died unexpectedly at home in Sudbury this December. Son of George and Dorothy Anthony (now passed), Grayme grew up in Montreal and attended the University of Ottawa and Concordia, gaining his BSc in Geology and Geography and his MBA at the University of Western Ontario. He worked as a geologist for nearly 30 years, which took him on adventures all over the world including the Canadian Arctic, Mongolia, South America, and Africa. Home again in Ontario, he headed up Houston Lake Mining as President and CEO from 1997 to 2010. Grayme remained strongly rooted in his family, who will always remember him for his laughter, witty humour, and generous, gentle spirit. He was a loving and generous brother, uncle, nephew, and cousin, and he will be sorely missed by his brother, Kym Anthony (Carole), his nephew Michael Anthony (Christina) and nieces Callen Anthony, Evelyne Mulhern (Daniel) and Morgynne Rothfuchs (David) and their children, as well as his large extended family. A memorial service will be held in the spring at Top Meadow Farms, one of Grayme’s favourite places to be with his loved ones. Arrangements entrusted to the Cooperative Funeral Home, Sudbury.
