Passed away peacefully on December 5, 2017 at the Lennox and Addington General Hospital with family at his side, in his 89th year. Predeceased by his beloved wife Marjorie (nee Hodgson). Loving father of Kathy (Dale) Pixley, Barbara (Jack) Campbell, Marilyn (Boyd) Goodberry, Janet (Alan) Hamilton, Laurie (Shane) Finlay, and Scott (Michelle) Thompson. Cherished Grandpa of Allan (Nicole) Pixley, Steven (Krista Clancy) Pixley, Stacey (Michael) Dowling, Jessica Campbell-Marshall, Laura (Ryan) Huffman-Tisdale, Adam (Amy) Goodberry, Eric (Sheena) Hamilton, Emily Hamilton, Evan (Stephanie) Hamilton, Tara (Helder Monteiro) Finlay, Ian (Cara McKillop) Finlay, Courtney and Hailey Thompson. GGT to great grandchildren Jack Pixley, Isla and Ava Clancy, Raya Pixley, Blake and Owen Dowling, William and Ella Marshall, Logan, Madison and Gavin Hunter, Jacob Tisdale, Chloe and Cassandra Goodberry, Connor and Christopher Hamilton. Survived by his sister Louise Loder. Predeceased by his parents Archibald and Bessie Thompson, brothers Sherman (Sarah), Bryce (Ada), Gerald (Ida), Isaiah(Ina), Vincent, Vernon, and R.J. Thompson and sisters Marion (Ivan) Labrash, and Agnes (Elmer) MacDermaid. Special thanks to the doctors and staff at Lennox and Addington General Hospital who took care of our Dad. Family and friends will be received at the TROUSDALE FUNERAL HOME in Sydenham on Friday, December 8, 2017 between the hours of 1-3 and 6-8pm, and Saturday, December 9th, from 10am until time of service. Funeral Service, Saturday, December 9, 2017, 11am in the chapel, officiated by his special golfing partner Rev. Oscar Simpson. Interment of the urn to follow at the Glenhaven Memorial Gardens, Glenburnie, ON . As an expression of sympathy, donations in Duane’s memory to the Lennox and Addington General Hospital or Canadian Diabetes Association would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
