Dorothy Marlene Hill (nee Bailey). It is with great sadness the family of Dorothy Hill announce her sudden passing at the Cypress Regional Hospital on Monday, July 31, 2017. Dorothy will be dearly missed by her loving daughter, Karen (Glen) Kovach, her daughter-in-law, Colleen Hill, her three cherished grandchildren, Crystal (Ron) Hill, Jesse (Matt) Zidkovich, Kelly (Kirsten) Kovach and her great grand-daughters, Rylee and Payton Zidkovich. Also left to mourn her death are her sisters Lynn (Dietrich) Roehm, Diane (Robert) Mulder, her sister-in–aw Louise (Richard) Lafortune, her brothers-in-law, Norm (Trish) Hill and Richard (Carol) Hill along with many loving nieces and nephews, cousins and numerous friends. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband of 53 years Bob (2013), her son Murray (2008), her parents Greta and Percy Bailey and her mother and father-in-law, Mildred and Henry Hill. Dorothy was born in Saskatoon on June 29, 1939 and grew up in the small community of Struan, Sask. After marrying her high school sweetheart, Bob Hill, the couple lived in Weyburn (twice), Saskatoon, and Battleford, before settling in Swift Current where they lived for 38 years. Dorothy made many good friends along the way and while raising her family, working as a book-keeper and volunteered in the community. Dorothy was a proud member of the Eastern Star Local serving in all positions including a term as Worthy Matron. In later years, Dorothy worked side-by-side with her husband as they established a new and successful Power-line Construction Company. Dorothy was a gifted crochetier and seamstress, an avid curling fan, a lucky card player, and a good and faithful friend who always enjoyed a cup of coffee with her neighbours – especially Mavis. Dorothy loved travelling with her
husband as they explored Canada and the US in their motor-home, she enjoyed the camaraderie of the Good Sam Club and always looked forward to big family reunions and to spending quality time with her grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 4th, at 2:00 PM in First United Church, 222 3rd Ave Northeast, Swift Current. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children or Canadian Cancer Society. Warren’s Funeral Home were entrusted with the arrangements.
