Dorothy Golding
1922-2016
Dorothy Evelyn Golding, 94, of The Briarlea
residence in Moncton, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on
December 2, 2016 following a brief illness.
Born in The Glades, she was the daughter of C.
Brock and M. Josephine (Fawcett) Flewelling. She is survived
by two step-daughters, Sandra Panun (Tim Lutes) and Patricia Moretti
(Steven), three step-sons, Reginald Golding (Valerie), Raymond Golding
(Victoria), and Richard Golding, several step-grandchildren and great
grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Russell
Golding and one step-grandson.
Dorothy retired from the City of Moncton in 1980
after 23 years of secretarial positions in both the Mayor’s and the
City Manager’s offices. Dorothy lived independently in an
apartment at The Briarlea, and following the death of her husband in
2006 decided to occupy her time by volunteering in the residence
upstairs. Each day, almost without fail, she chose to
negotiate the lengthy staircase to the upper floor to assist the staff
by setting up tables for lunch and helping in the laundry
room. She very much enjoyed her friendships and interactions
with the staff and residents.
Arrangements have been in the care of Salisbury
Funeral Home (372-4800). Interment has taken place at Fairhaven
Memorial Gardens.
If desired, donations to Friends of the Moncton
Hospital would be much appreciated by the family.
