Dora Pente
1962-2016
It is with sadness that we announce the
passing of Dora Theresa Pente, age 89, of
Sackville, NB. Dora passed away peacefully at home on October 23,
2016.
One of 5 children, Dora was born in
Timmins, Ontario on December 22, 1926 to James and Lily Knell. She
completed nursing school at St. Mary’s Hospital in Timmins.
Her love of learning led her to obtain her BA and MEd. She spent most
of her career teaching in the Nursing Program at Northern College of
Applied Arts and Technology in South Porcupine.
Dora and her husband George moved to
Restoule, Ontario after they retired and spent 20 years living on Lake
Commanda. She loved quilting and machine knitting and was active in
the Anglican Church Women. At age 85 Dora moved to Sackville, New
Brunswick to be closer to family. She made new friends and enjoyed her
new community.
Dora will be sadly missed by her son Bob
(Pam) of Toronto, her daughters Cathy (Michael) of Sackville and Patti
(Terry) of Edmonton as well as 9 grandchildren – Adam, Alex,
Marcus, Emma, Amy, Laura, Dave, Fiona and Owen.
Dora is predeceased by her husband
George, her brothers Cyril, Robert and Gordon and her sister
Myrtle.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted
to Jones Funeral Home in Sackville (506-364-1300) where cremation will
take place. Visiting hours will be held from Jones Funeral
Home on Thursday October 27 from 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be
held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church on Friday October 28 at
2:00 PM, the Reverend Dr. Ranall Ingalls officiating.
Donations in Dora’s memory
made be made to St. Paul’s ACW, the Heart and Stroke
Foundation or a charity of your choice.
