Donald Bruce MacIntyre

MACINTYRE, Donald Bruce – January 5, 1924 – May 23, 2016 – On Monday, May 23rd, 2016 at the Cornwall Community Hospital our beloved Father, (Donald) Bruce MacIntyre went to join our dear Mother Helen. The only son of the late William and Hattie (Countryman) MacIntyre, Bruce grew up on a farm south of Finch. He met his love Helen (Ouderkirk – deceased May 2009) at a dance and they were inseparable for more than 68 years. Bruce and Helen moved to Cornwall with their three daughters, Marlene MacIntyre (Glenn Moreau), Dona Cruickshank (Jim McCosham) and Barbara Mason where Bruce drove transport for various companies over the next 50 years. Bruce thoroughly enjoyed his retirement years especially his last few months at Riverdale Terrace. Missing him greatly are his six grandchildren, Janet, Paul, Tammy and Don, John and Philip, numerous great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, as well as extended family members. Bruce was blessed with many wonderful friends who always benefited from his sharp memory and his engaging personality. He always had an anecdote for every occasion. He loved people and was much loved in return. Drive on, Dad. Resting at the Wilson Funeral Home, 822 Pitt Street, Cornwall where visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held in the chapel of the Wilson Funeral Home on Friday May 27, 2016 at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow in St. Lawrence Valley Cemetery, Long Sault. If so desired contributions in his memory to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. Online messages of condolences may be made in the obituary section of: www.wilsonfuneralhome.ca
