Donald Thomas Fisher (also known as Don or Donny by his family and neighbours) passed away peacefully surrounded by his daughters, sister, brother in-law and partner Irene, at the Didsbury Hospital on Thursday, March 30th, 2017 at the age of 73 years of age.. Don was born on November 26th, 1943 to Ernie and Nancy Fisher (nee Byrt) and spent his entire life on his 3rd generation farm three miles West of Didsbury. He is survived by his loving partner Irene Christensen of 25 years, his daughters Carol Taylor, Wendy (Mike) Fedoruk and Janet (Perry) Almond. As well as his step-daughters Misti Christensen (Jeff Miller) and Dana Christensen (Quentin Pare); his sister Joyce (Len Kilbreath); his nephew Don Jacobsen and niece Yevonne Jacobsen; his grandchildren Jaden, Alex, Riley, Zach, Maddy, Jaxon, Nate, Mia, Max and Ella were the light of his life. He will be fondly remembered for his love deep of his family, the farm and his cattle. As well as, being a fantastic neighbor. A private celebration of life will be held at the Fisher farm and at his request, no formal service will be had. In lieu of flowers, and if so desired, a donation can be made to The Rosebud Health Foundation.
