Denise A. Demers (née Proulx) 1933 – 2016

DEMERS, Denise (née Proulx) – It is with deep sadness that we announce Denise’s peaceful passing at the Kirkland & District Hospital on July 1, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Denise was born in Timmins on July 11, 1933. She was predeceased by her husband Gérard Demers, her parents Adéoda and Léonie Proulx, her siblings René Proulx, Yolande (Bert) Last and Blanche (George) Balkwill. Denise will be forever missed and loved by her children Roger Demers, Louise (Bill) McCurdy, Carole (Rob) Murdoch, her brother Roland (Pauline) Proulx; her grandchildren Alissa and Aaron Demers, Ryan (Erin) McCurdy, Sean McCurdy, Lauren Murdoch (Jonathan Dionne), Ryan Murdoch (Linda Ferguson); her precious great grandchildren Caiden and Eileigh McCurdy, her cherished dog Nicki and her many previous dogs and birds. Denise is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Denise loved her family tremendously and will be deeply missed. She had a passion for painting, knitting, listening to music, singing, dancing, and preparing meals and desserts for her family, friends and neighbours. Special thank you to the Toburn Unit at Teck-Pioneer Residence and the excellent palliative care unit at Kirkland & District Hospital.
