On February 5, 2016 David Harold Brown went to meet his Maker, surrounded by his wife Lily, family and Pastors. He had COPD. He was predeceased by his loving parents, James (Jim) and June Brown; his birth parents, Verna Bertram and Clint Sheffield. He leaves behind his wife of 18 years, Lily and her son Joel Thomas (Cereena Rows) Dahlia; her daughter Annaliese Gibson (Rob Bos) Astrid, Liam and Anika; his daughter Christina Genaille and grand-daughter Justine (Nathan Pelletier) great-grandchildren Rozay and Sophie, grandson Bailey; his son Neil (Tania) grandsons Lucas and Erik; his children’s mother, Marilyn; and his sister Susan Brown. After fifty years David finally met his biological father (his birth mother had passed) and family from both sides who now survive him. They include from mother’s side: Jim Dewar, Allen (Jean) Wood, Danny (Rita) Wood, Lyle (Heather) Wood, Bonnie (Stan-deceased) Noeth, Bunny (Tim) Noeth. From his father’s side: Ben Sheffield, Gary (Thelma) Sheffield, Clint Sheffield, Denice (Mark) Bold, Rita (Dennis) Sheffield Rentz, Doug (Bev) Sheffield and Lisa (Dave) Dyer; plus all of their families and many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws whom he held dear to his heart. David was born (November 25, 1951) and raised in Regina. He went to Balfour Collegiate then worked at many different jobs (a Jack-of-all-trades). He worked 26 years as a projectionist for almost every theater in town plus the Cinema 6 drive in. Then for 11 years he worked for the Commissionaires at Regina Airport, SIAST (then), Social Services and City Hall. He loved to socialize, had many friends and had a great sense of humour. He loved playing drums, reading, painting, swimming and basking in the sun. “Oh my stars and little fishes!” was his exclamation many times. He loved and adored each member of his huge family and was very proud when he became a great grandfather twice! He also loved God, nature and animals especially his close companions, Muffy our cat and Cooper our dog. He lived life his way and was not perfect (as none of us are). A heartfelt “Thank You!” to all who have taken care of, called or visited him the many times he was in hospitals and to those who always kept in contact. David will be greatly missed, but thanks to Jesus, we have the Heavenly hope of meeting him again! A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at Regina Funeral Home, 4001 East Victoria Avenue, Regina, SK on Friday, February 12, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in David’s memory may be made to the Regina Humane Society, P. O. Box 3143, Regina, SK S4P 3G7 or a charity of choice. Arrangements entrusted to Regina Funeral Home (306) 789-8850.
