Cora Audell Reid – 2016

Cora Audell Reid
April 8, 1921 – September 18, 2016
After complications from hip surgery in June, Cora passed away at Grace Hospice on September 18, 2016.
Cora was born to Chris & Emma (Hipkin) Thorpe at Star City on April 8, 1921. She grew up on her parents farm until moving to Regina in 1942. She worked at R.H. Williams in Regina until she married Gordon Reid in 1947. She returned to work at Simpson’s from about 1965 until it closed. She then worked at D’Allaird’s until she retired.
She was active in 5 pin bowling, playing all kinds of card games, golf at the Lakeview Golf Course and other courses. Her dogs were also an important part of her life.
After living on Montague Street for 42 years, she lived in Victoria Estates from 2008-2015 where she was a regular at the card games and bingo. In the last year she moved to Victoria Park and then Riverbend Crossing.
She was predeceased by her parents, her brother Syd (Nora) and her husband Gordon. She is lovingly remembered by her 2 sons, Bob (Marie) and Greg (Deborah) , her grandchildren Eric, Erin, Brian and Nathan and her great-grandchildren Nova, Rowan, Alice and Henry. As well, by nieces and nephews including nieces Darlene and Marion and cousin Jim, who frequently visited her.
A family Celebration of Cora’s life will take place in St. Albert, Alberta on October 10. She will be sorely missed.
