COLLEEN MARIE MACADAM, Dartmouth (formerly of River Bourgeois)
Colleen passed away peacefully into the arms of the angels on Nov. 09, 2016 with her family at her side. Born in Seaview on Aug. 30, 1951 Colleen changed the world by her brilliant smile, vibrant personality and amazing sense of humor. It is with heavy hearts that we said Good Bye to Colleen as she transitioned into her next life. She will be missed by her best friend, partner and wife, Ronita. For 45 years Colleen & Roni were inseparable. If you saw one the other was only 2 steps behind. Left with many fond and loving memories are her family; sisters Clare Bouchard, Ann (Leo) Martin, Judy (Melvin) Carter, Darlene (Chester) Jeffrey; brothers Peter “Sonny” (Shirley), Ronnie, Gerald (Delores) Gary (Emma), Calvin (Nancy); in-laws David (Cindi) MacAdam, Heather (Carl) Noel, Leah (Victor) LeBlanc and Maria (Phil) Tomlinson; sister in law Jeannie Lawrence; step mother-in-law Florence MacAdam, special nephew Chris (Julie) MacAdam and “Nanny’s” little buddy Ava; 117 Nieces, Nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and great grandnieces and great grandnephews, also by numerous aunts and uncles especially Austin and Emily Boudreau, her cousins and friends from far and near.
Colleen made her career with the Co-operators Insurance Company as Sales Agent and retired from David Currie Insurance Agency where she was a Sales Associate for several years and retired in June 2009. Colleen was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer on Dec. 31, 2009 and from that day on she amazed everyone with her courage, determination and positive attitude to beat that dreaded disease. She was a real trooper and inspiration throughout her treatments and hospitalizations, never giving up the fight.
Colleen lived life to the fullest, completed her bucket list of things to do, enjoyed a good discussion with family and friends about anything and everything. Her family and friends were her life, celebrating every occasion with a toast of Appleton. She loved being the center of attention with her humor and stories, made everyone feel important and was loved by everyone. “The Sister’s on the Run” will never be the same without her, her friends will miss her pleasant personality, good nature, smile and many laughs, vacations and get together’s . Roni will miss her the most, together through good and bad times, sickness and health. Their love was undeniable. So farewell my buddy until we meet again.
Colleen was predeceased by her maternal grandparents Gertie “Mamie” and Sam Boudreau, her mother Obeline Burke, father Tony Burke and brothers Billo and Garvey, sisters in-law Sharon and Elaine, brother in-law Wilfred Bouchard and nephew Nelson; father and mother in law Angus and Sis MacAdam. Her beloved pets Wendy, Ginger, Casey, Holly and Zoe will be waiting over the Rainbow Bridge for their mom and best friend.
