Obituary It is with broken hearts that we the passing of Christina Traynor. The most amazing woman we have known, our treasured mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. Words cannot express how much Christina will be dearly missed in the lives of her family and friends. She lives on in the hearts of her children, Scott Livingstone (Gini), Steve Livingstone (Jennifer), Mark Livingstone (Dee), Rachel Livingstone (Matt) and Caroline Livingstone (Mac), and her siblings, Helen Murphy, Lawrence Traynor, Ann Aldridge and Margaret Roberts. Nanny will also be missed by her grandchildren Alfie, Derek, Kristie-Anne, Alexandra, Liam, Piper and Lauren and her extended family, Fred, Maiah, Leah, Cai and Sean. Christina was predeceased by her parents John and Nancy Traynor. Christina, a voracious bibliophile, loved to her passion for reading and literature with her family and friends. Her love of language and storytelling was even more fully realized when, after raising her own five children, she became a highly respected and beloved English teacher at St. Nicholas Jr. High and taught the International Baccalaureate Program at Arch Bishop MacDonald High School. After retiring she spent a year in Turkey teaching IB to gifted students at a private school just outside Istanbul. During that time she would spend many of her weekends gallivanting around Europe. An avid traveller, Christina greatly enjoyed her adventures away with her best friend and confidante, her sister Helen. Put these two in a room together and the laughter was non-stop and infectious. When Ann and Gert, her other two sisters, and her niece Beth McMillan were added to the mix it was something to behold, even to her final days. Christina, was always up for a game of scrabble or a round of gin rummy and had a playful and mischievous nature. The twinkle in her eyes and her cheeky banter made her unparalleled winning streak as much fun for those she played as it was for her. Christina had the unique gift to make every person she encountered feel seen, significant and cherished. The family would like to thank the incredible team of nurses and staff at the Cross Cancer Institute who our mother was particularly fond of. We would also like to thank the palliative care staff at the General Hospital 9Y unit. A Funeral Mass of Christina’s life will be held on August 3rd at 10:00am at St. Joseph’s Basilica 10044 113 Street Edmonton AB. Christina had a fondness for gardening. In lieu of flowers please plant a perennial in your yard and raise a glass to the light of our lives who will be forever loved and missed.
