Chrissie MacMillan
1926-2017
MacMillan, Chrissie – Age 90 of Whycocomagh. It is with great
sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother, grammie,
great-grammie, sister and friend on Sunday, May 28, 2017 in the Cape
Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Rosedale, Inverness Co.; she
was a daughter of the late Hugh and Jessie (MacLean)
MacKinnon.
She was a member of Stewart United Church, Whycocomagh. A
life member of the UCW, a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the
Whycocomagh Volunteer Fire Department and the Royal Canadian Legion,
Branch 123, Whycocomagh. Surviving are her sons, Byron, (Cathy),
Jamesville and Lorne (Marion), Elmsdale; grandchildren, Brendan
(Kelly), Maria (Rick), Liam (Kristen), Kevin, Kyle, Jillian, Patrick,
Kinnon, and Annie; great-grandchildren, Kenzie, Evelyn and Neil Rory;
her sister, Sara, Edmonton, Alberta; several nieces , nephews,
grandnieces, grandnephews , great- grandnieces, great-
grandnephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Charlie, brothers,
Donald, Roddie, and sister, Margaret.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 31 form 2-9 p.m. in Dennis
Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Whycocomagh. Funeral will be held 11 a.m.
Thursday, June 1 in Stewart United Church, Whycocomagh with Rev.
Rachel Campbell officiating. Burial in Stewartdale Cemetery. Family
flowers only, please. Memorial donations may be made to Stewart United
Church or a charity of your choice. Words of comfort may be forwarded
