Cecil was born and raised on the farm at Verwood, Saskatchewan where he learned the values of hard work and family. On June 2, 1946 he married Doris Gordon, the love of his life. After a few years of farming and working for the Readlyn Co-op, he moved his family to Avonhurst where he managed the Co-op store until his retirement. He enjoyed gardening, carpentry and helping his boys with their projects. He was also involved with the Masonic Lodge for over 40 years including time as the Master of Qu’Appelle Lodge and District Deputy Grand Master of District 4. After he retired and moved into Regina, he continued to enjoy his workshop, making novelty and heirloom pieces for his family to treasure. In 2008 he ceased his woodworking when they moved in to the Renaissance Retirement Residence. Cecil’s family would like to express their gratitude for the ongoing support from the Renaissance ‘family’. The family would like to thank the staff of 5E at the General hospital for their wonderful care of Cecil during his final days.
