Cecil Arleigh Swan Piercy 1919-2016 Just hours after attending the funeral of his beloved wife of 74 years, and having completed his lifelong commitment to care for her, Cecil Piercy of McAdam, NB passed away peacefully on August 8, 2016 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born on October 17, 1919, Cecil was the son of the late James & Helen Piercy. Cecil enjoyed gardening, dogs and spending time at the family cottage on Magaguadavic Lake. Cecil worked with his father in his store, J.O. Piercy & Sons in McAdam, and later had an Insurance business. He was an active member of McAdam United Church, spending many years as Sunday school superintendent. He was a past member on the board of directors at the DECH in Fredericton. Cecil will be sadly missed by daughter in-law Betty Piercy of Harvey, grandsons Jeff (Monique) Piercy of Moncton, Greg (Martha) Piercy of Woodstock and great grandchildren Nicholas, Jessica and Kaitlyn. He will also be missed by his brother Leroy of McAdam along with his family John, Ross, Anita, Rose and families. Cecil was pre-deceased by his loving wife Marguerite, his son Gerald and a brother David. Visitation will be held at Swan’s Funeral Chapel,1826 Rt. 3 Harvey Station NB, on Friday, August 12 th from 2:00pm-4:00pm with funeral service, officiated by Rev. Ellen Beairsto, to be held immediately thereafter. Interment to follow at the Rockland Cemetery in McAdam, NB. In lieu of flowers donations to the McAdam Historical Restoration Commission Inc. would be appreciated by the family.
