Caroline (Pyke) Patterson

We, the family, regret to announce the passing of the late Caroline (Pyke) Patterson, 95, on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at the Northside General Hospital, surrounded by family.
Born in St. Lawrence, Nfld. on Aug. 6, 1921, her family moved shortly thereafter to St. Pierre and Miquelon. She came to North Sydney in 1939 at the age of 18 and remained a life-long resident of Tobin Road. She was a member of the Sydney Mines and North Sydney Pensioners’ Clubs and loved the dances and social gatherings that they held. Carrie was a homemaker who cherished her involvement in the care of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her sister, Emma, daughter Rita Eveleigh (Walter), daughter-in-law Nancy Keenan (Luigi), grandchildren Carolyn Kuhner (Ivan), Kim Patterson, Karen Tobin (Blair), David Eveleigh (Arlene), great grand-children Ashlynn, Taylor, Holly, Erica, Carly, Robbie, Tyler, Johnathan, and Jenna, and many nieces and nephews
She was predeceased by her husband Gordon, son Roy, grandson John, brothers Harvey and George, sisters Annie, Frances, and Martha and her special Aunt Julia Pyke.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will be held Sunday June 11, 2017, at 2pm in Carman United Church, Clyde Avenue, Sydney Mines, with Rev. Nick Phillips officiating. The burial will take place at a later date.
