NEW GLASGOW – Bryan Michael Shellito, 40, New Glasgow, formerly of British Columbia, died Wednesday, January 18, 2017 after a life well lived, guided by his beautiful free spirit.
Born in New Westminster, B.C., he was a son of Michael and Shirley Ann Shellito, Maple Ridge, B.C. Bryan enjoyed playing guitar, listening to music, spending time at the beach and with his dogs, Molly and Keioda. He was an avid concert goer and CD collector. Bryan was a “chef in training” for many years, having worked in a number of upscale kitchens and pubs. He enjoyed creating unique dishes at home to share with his family and friends. Bryan possessed a charitable nature and was always looking for ways to help others. He valued the long-lasting relationships forged throughout his life. Above all, Bryan loved to spend time with his son, Hunter. He will be dearly missed by those he loved.
Surviving besides his parents are his fiancé, Joanna Weatherbee, New Glasgow; son, Hunter Shellito, Great Village; his son’s mother, Megan MacLean, Great Village.
He was predeceased by his beloved sister, Nicole Shellito; maternal and paternal grandparents.
A Celebration of Bryan’s life will be held 2-4 p.m. Sunday, January 22, at 430 Nelson Street, New Glasgow.
If desired, donations will be gratefully accepted in Bryan’s memory for his son, Hunter, C/o. Joanna Weatherbee, 430 Nelson Street, New Glasgow, NS B2H 3M1.
