Blaine Cox

It is with great sadness that the family of BLAINE BULLOCK COX announces his passing after a lengthy illness, on Thursday, September 27, 2007 at the age of 69 years. Blaine will be lovingly remembered by his wife Marlene of 47 years, their three children; Shelley (Joe) Wright of Strathmore, Ryan (Pam) Cox of Houston and Ken (Karen) Cox of Lethbridge; and 6 grandchildren: Blayne, Chase, Haley, Logan, Meghan, and Nicole. His mother, Genneal, his 9 surviving brothers and sisters and his mother-in-law, Isabelle Olson, will miss him, as well. Blaine is also survived by many nieces and nephews and by his extended family. Born January 9, 1938 in Lethbridge, Alberta he grew up and lived most of his life in the Lethbridge area. He was the oldest child born to the Lemond and Genneal Cox family of Park Lake, and had10 siblings. His working life started in Calgary, after which he ranched and managed a business in Pincher Creek. He returned to the Park Lake area in 1973 where he established and lived on the family farm until 2007. In addition to farming and ranching he was involved in the development of two local businesses. Blaine was passionate about the things that interested him and got fully involved in whatever he was doing. Throughout his life he was an avid outdoorsman and horseman and thoroughly enjoyed spending time in the mountains hunting and camping. Many precious moments were spent with his family and the memories will be treasured and held close. At Blaine’s request, no formal funeral services will be held. A private family Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. At the family’s request, no flowers please.
