Obituary
On January, 24, 2017, Bernard Labuda passed peacefully away.
Bernard was born on August 21, 1921, in Poland. He married Elizabeth Kurtz and shortly after immigrated to Germany. They were blessed with the birth of a daughter, Eva in 1957.
In 1962 the family immigrated to Canada and settled in Edmonton. After a time, his marriage to Elizabeth dissolved.
Bernard lived on his own until 2010 when health issues dictated that he move to the Dr. Gerald Zetter Care Centre. On January 22, Bernard was transferred to the University of Alberta Hospital after he developed respiratory problems and on January 24, 2017, he passed away peacefully.
Bernard enjoyed his garden. He was involved with his church. He enjoyed the outdoors and could always be found working in his garden, going on walks and visiting friends.
Bernard worked at Gainers from 1966 to 1986 when he retired.
Bernard was predeceased by two infant sons.
He is survived by his daughter, Eva (Harvey) Geisler; grandchildren, Tracy (Dean) Russel, Jason (Sarah) Geisler, and Chantelle (Judson) Beasley; great-grandchildren, Zachery Russell, Devin and Everly Geisler, and Adalynn Beasley.
