Barbara Catherine Pitts
70, of Tantallon passed away peacefully on Thursday October 6, 2016 in the QEII Health Sciences Center, Halifax. Born in Halifax she was the daughter of the late Carroll and Dorothy (Kent) Smyth.
Barbara was an avid reader enjoyed bowling, bingo and softball. She loved to travel and spending time with her family. Survived by her son Wayne (Tara), Tantallon; daughter, Charlene (Richard) Burgoyne, Tantallon; brothers, Peter (Wanda) Smyth, Mount Uniacke; Stephen (Lois McGrath) Smyth, Sackville; sisters, Constance (Michael) Slaunwhite, Fall River; Louise (Richard) Smith, Sackville; Maureen (Bruce) Rogers, Bedford; Gwendolyn Smyth, Sackville; grandchildren, Matthew, Cassidy, Rylee, Shelby. Predeceased by sister-in-law, Heather Smyth. The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 Tuesday October 11th in the Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy’s Cove Road, Upper Tantallon. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday October 12th in St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 4 Beaverbank Road, Lower Sackville. Father Mark Syrenne officiating. Burial to follow in Oakridge Memorial Gardens, Lower Sakville. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Canadian Cancer Society. Online condolences can be made to www.rawalker.ca
