Barb passed away peacefully after a short but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Barb is lovingly remembered by her children Nicholette (Spencer) Devenney and Dan (Heather Adams); her grandchildren Adam Smith, Addison, Owen, Rosalie and Oliver Devenney and her caring partner Ernie Swanson. Also mourning her passing are her siblings Keith (Louise) Olson, Darcy (Patricia) Olson, Rodney Olson, Brian (Tammy) Olson, Leeann (Karl) Szoke, Alan Olson, Cynthia (Allen) Hart, brother-in-law Murray Sopher and other close in laws, numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Barb was predeceased by her parents Harold and Geraldine Olson, sister Lori Sopher and husband Neil Harbidge. Barb will be fondly and lovingly remembered for her love and devotion to family and her strong work ethic. The family would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses and Staff of the Pincher Creek Hospital and Lynn and Kandis from Home Care for their support and assistance in keeping Barb comfortable in her final month. A Memorial Service was held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (1240 Wentworth Ave, Pincher Creek) on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 1:00 pm. Interment followed at Fairview Cemetery. Memorial donations in Barb’s name may be made directly to Windy Slopes Health Foundation (Box 2554, Pincher Creek, AB.T0K 1W0).
