Avis Frances Logan
Avis F. Logan, 88, passed away peacefully at McNair Manor in
Moncton, NB, on Friday, October 28, 2016. Born in Halifax, NS, she was
the daughter of Harry and Marguerite (MacDonnell) O’Neill.
Avis will be lovingly missed by her children, Paul Logan
(Cindy), Deborah Patterson (Don), Richard Logan (Mary), Donna Crandall
(David), David Logan, and Maureen Cormier (Gilles); thirteen
grandchildren; six great grandchildren; sisters, Ethel Munro (David),
Patricia Gilby, Joan Shewaga, Peggy Langille, and Deen
O’Neill; brother, James O’Neill (Mary);
son-in-law, Todd Adams; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended
family members.
Avis was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Floyd R.
Logan (July 2015), daughter, Brenda Logan-Adams, brothers, Douglas
O’Neill and Jerome O’Neill, and sister, Winnifred
Currie.
Avis’s life centred around her family, especially
her seven children and a husband whose love for hijinks meant that he
never quite grew up himself. Whether in Moncton or Enfield, she made a
home where everyone felt welcome, grandchildren always looked forward
to visits, and the kitchen was filled with homemade bread and cookies.
While some of these memories faded for Avis in her last years, her
gentle spirit never did. She will always be remembered for her
kindness and love.
A service to celebrate and honour Avis’s life will
be held at St. Bernard’s Church, Enfield, NS, on Wednesday,
November 2nd at 1:00 PM. A reception will
follow the service. Interment will be held at St. Bernard’s
Parish Cemetery.
Arrangements under the professional care of Fergusons Funeral
Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995).
In memory of Avis, donations to the Alzheimer Society of
Canada or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. Online
