Arnell Lawrence Johnson
Arnell Lawrence Johnson, of Saskatoon, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on October 15, 2017 at the age of 78. Arnell was born August 18, 1939 to Carl and Myrtle Johnson of Melfort, Saskatchewan, where he lived and worked until moving to Saskatoon in 2015 to be closer to his children and grandchildren.
Arnell started his career as a sheet metal worker at the age of 17. He married Pauline Deptuch in 1966, and they had four children. He began farming in 1976, something he was passionate about. He farmed and ran his own business, AJ Sheet Metal, until 2005. Arnell enjoyed visiting with friends, reminiscing about old times, camping, and fishing at northern lakes. Family and friends were very important to him.
Arnell will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 51 years, Pauline; their children, Quenton (Justin and Veronika), Kristin (Paul Mellor), and Carla (Brian Kachur, Jocelyn, Logan); sister Phyllis Groseclose; brother Byron (Patti Johnson); and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, sister Sharon, sister-in-law Norma Johnson, brother-in-law Gordon Groseclose, and in 1989, daughter Carina.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at Park Funeral Home, 311 Third Avenue North, Saskatoon at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 21, 2017. Interment will be held at a later date.
