Our beloved Alberta passed away peacefully at Buchanan Lodge, New Westminster, on November 7th, 2016 with members of her family by her side. Born in Walkerton, Ontario, she was the seventh child of Frederick and Catherine Benninger and of her two brothers and five sisters she is survived by her sister Eunice. Predeceased by her first husband, Verner Anderson (1953), she and her young daughter Loanne (Jim) moved to Ontario and a few years later Alberta met and married John Campagne and she would go on to have five more children, John (Miriam), Michael (Miriam), Cathy (Craig), Pierre (Tina) and Marie (Eran). She will be missed by her daughter-in-law Hildie and her sixteen grandchildren that would follow: Nicole (Connell), Cori, Melissa (Adrian), Aryn, Daniel, Brianna (Ken), Jordan, Jacob, Nicholas, Cullin, Tal, Rachel, Zachary, Madeline, Shawn, and Yuval. Alberta took great joy in raising her family with John. She was loving, tender, and tough, a 4′ 11” force to be reckoned with. She led a full, happy and reverent life, devoted to her family and her Roman Catholic faith. She loved the arts, was an avid swimmer, skier, hiker and dragon-boater (which she did into her 80’s) and with her adventurous spirit she traveled the world. She had many, many friends and anyone who met her never forgot her. Our appreciation and thanks to the staffs at the Belvedere, Royal Columbian Hospital, Maple Ridge Rehabilitation, Queen’s Park Care Centre and Buchanan Lodge for all your care and kindness and patience with Alberta. The family would like to say a very special thank you to the staff at Buchanan Lodge for their care and friendship and making us all feel so comfortable during the final days of mom’s life. A prayer service will be held on Wednesday evening, November 9th at 7:00pm and a Funeral Mass Service will take place on Thursday, November 10th at 10:00am at St. Michael’s Church, 9387 Holmes Street, Burnaby, BC with a reception following the Thursday morning service. Condolences for the family may be left at www.kearneyfs.com
